Our life can take on a whole new meaning when we pour into others so they can win. When we are young it’s all about “me” and as we grow older there are younger generations that need our help. There is a huge value to helping pour into others, to notice them and let them know they have what it takes or have something to offer. The goal: to use what we know and are great at to help others to succeed in their own life. As they win, we win and then it repeats as they help others. I’ve listed three suggestions that can encourage you as you look to help others.
The world is challenging as we all navigate the time we have here and the relationships in our life. Never before has the culture been more about “me” than “them”. I wanted to share three strategies that might get us in motion.
1. Invest in others starting with your spouse and children. We don’t have any business trying to change the world when we can’t change the world under our own roof.
2. Life isn’t about getting. Whether we think it or not, we are not here to acquire material goods and build success to just get more comfortable. Life is about significance. Significance comes in relationships. Relationships require investment. Who can we invest in that are around us? Remember, you’ll always be wishing you were in some else’s shoes but there are people watching you dying be in yours.
3. As I’ve said before, your wisest choice in building your business, your brand and online platform is discovering the fact that your life is solution for someone else’s problem. You are a solution. What skills, insight and wisdom could help give someone the edge they need to succeed? Be on the lookout. There are so many people hurting, feeling alone and terrified to ask for help.
I have found that a tremendous amount of freedom comes with not having to do life alone. My mentors have poured into me because the men in their life poured into them. The fruit of my life actually heralds back to those mentors above me. My inspiration is that of what Jesus has done for us: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 The true fruit of our lives and the impact we have will be evident in the lives we touch.
