Thanks for Making the WonderGround Gallery Takeover a Blast! Recap and Pics

Event Recap: Noah Takes Over WonderGround Gallery at Downtown Disney Anaheim, Ca.

Wow! What a weekend! Local Southern California artist Noah had the opportunity to take over the amazing WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney® District at the Disneyland® Resort over a three day period Friday April 11th through Sunday April 13th. The exhibit and offerings included pieces from some of Noah’s classic Disney Villains series including the Evil Queen, Maleficent, the poison apple and Scar, as well as other lines from Mavericks of Mayhem (Big Bad Wolf, Goofy, Mickey Hot Rod and “Hard Tail Adventures”). “I always find it so cool to see Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse riding around in custom pinstriped classic hot rods,” said Noah.
Other favorites of mine that were featured during the weekend included “The Price you Pay” which features Ursula stealing Ariel’s voice, as well as “Who’s the Fairest in all the Land?” depicting the Evil Queen and the Huntsman from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Among other fan favorites, were interpretations by Noah of beloved Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas characters, Jack Skellington and Sally.

Friday, April 11th was a smash as lines formed out the door when Noah began signing merchandise. The night kicked into high gear when Noah’s newest release”Tangled,” a massive six foot canvas sold for $10,500, along with a three-foot one-of-a-kind Vinylmation themed to “The Black Cauldron” which sold for $9800. Throughout the weekend WonderGround Gallery was packed as Noah signed and personalized pieces from 1pm-10pm. Guests came to the event from as far as the San Francisco Bay area to San Diego and Arizona. Other classic Noah images found were on display and found good homes, including “Walt in Train” depicting one of Noah’s iconic portraits of Walt and one of Noah’s recent creations: The Kid in Me™. This piece heralds our adventures as children told through the art and stories on canvas. “One of the funniest one’s that stands out in my life lessons,” says Noah, “is where we see a girl about to pull out her little brothers tooth by tying a string to a doorknob. Classic!!”

Throughout the weekend, Noah continued to work on a live art performance piece inspired by Maleficent. This piece “Search my Pet for Lips as Red as Rose” will be offered and released May 17th at Wonderground Gallery.Noah will be on hand for a special appearance and signing. Accompany Noah as a Special Guest through the takeover weekend was artist Katie Kelly.. Her amazing storytelling and incorporation of hidden images and Disney characters into her pieces, was a huge hit with Guests.

On your next visit to the Disneyland® Resort, be sure to stop by WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney® District. Many of Noah’s pieces continue to be shown on a regular basis and are available for purchase. Prices sizes and formats vary.
